Mission 3: Raising Funds for Community and Self-Help Projects

raising funds

Fellow Nigerians,

Thanks to the Internet, the ability to raise our voices, organise ourselves and fundraise for the good of humanity has never been more effortless. Before long, RevNig will engage its envisioned 20million+ supporters in a fundraising drive that benefits the everyday people across Nigeria.

Before long, the RevNig Movement will start raising funds for candidates from supporters of the movement, online and offline, to running their campaigns, if need be.

The RevNig Movement will also commence crowdfunding for innovative startups and community development projects that benefit creative individuals and communities, respectively. Projects relating to potable water supply, healthcare, education, agriculture, research, science and technology, etc.

The RevNig Movement enjoins Nigerians who have political ambitions, startup or community development projects to execute but lack funds to start now by creating awareness about the initiative or project through an online platform. The knowledge of the project will facilitate fundraising.

The RevNig Movement urge Nigerians to join in the battle to relieve our people of the misery they face today.

NOTE: Projects endorsed by the RevNig Movement will undergo strict scrutiny in accountability and transparency. The RevNig Movement and other interested parties must have constant access to information about the use of donated funds. This information will be available to donors on RevNig and the project executor’s website.

Ortos WebDesign is volunteering to create fundraising websites, free of service charge, for those who have projects that will benefit the everyday Nigerian. Ortos will also guide such sites toward achieving their fundraising strategy and goals.

Political Campaigns

Fellow Nigerians, there is no doubt that the gangsters we call leaders will stop at nothing but continue destroying Nigeria by retaining power. They will never let go of leadership without a fight, using their ill-gotten wealth to buy votes, rig elections, hire thugs and incite violence. The RevNig Movement (RevNig) knows there is a cost in running a grassroots political campaign, and we have plans for that.

In successive elections, RevNig will leverage its potential minimum of 20 million+ supporters out of the possible 98 million+ non-committed Nigerian voters to raise funds for chosen candidates to run electioneering campaigns.

If 20 million well-wishers at home and abroad contribute a dollar each, that will amount to $20m, about 10 billion naira. Again, if each contributor decides to sacrifice $10 for the good of our fatherland, that will amount to $200m (100 billion naira), enough to motivate grassroots and online support in any election. Still, some individuals, organisations, and governments will give much more than $10 contributions.

Where there is a will, there is a way.

On this note, RevNig calls on patriotic and capable Nigerians to come out of reclusion to help fix Nigeria. Nigerians also must be ready to make financial sacrifices if we are to take power away from those who have hijacked Nigeria and put it back in the hands of the people, the rightful owners.

Mission 3b: Crowdfunding for Community Projects Across Nigeria

community projects

The RevNig Movement (RevNig) will begin fundraising for community projects within a short time. Crowdfunded projects communities nationwide can benefit from, providing water supply, education, healthcare, etc.

For instance, if a million supporters donate $1 each, that will amount to $1 million. A million dollars can provide a minimum of 100 boreholes for 100 communities. If used judiciously, $10,000 can drill a borehole. Think about what we can do for our country if we do this weekly or monthly.

The same goes for providing healthcare and educational equipment and facilities for communities across Nigeria.

JF Kennedy once said, “Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country.”

Fellow Nigerians, we can do a lot for our country if we contribute money to various worthy causes that directly benefit the people.

No matter how big a project is, we can do it collectively if there is a will.

Mission 3c: Fundraising for Innovative Start-Up Projects

start-up projects

Many a Nigerian youngster abound with innovative, creative and lucrative ideas but do not have the finances to start. Before long, the RevNig Movement (RevNig) will seek funding from its 20 million voters’ force for start-up projects across Nigeria.

RevNig urges financially disadvantaged Nigerian researchers, innovators and creators to reach out to supporters through their online platform. Showing detailed explanations of how they will go about their projects — how the project will benefit the everyday people, or how they will give back to the community with proceeds from the project. Their websites will also serve as a platform to make donations directly.

For example, if a million RevNig supporters donate $1 each, 100 Nigerian start-ups will get $10,000 as a start-up grant. Imagine how many youngsters we will uplift if we collectively sacrifice at least a dollar monthly or weekly.

With innovative initiatives that will benefit society, Nigerians should set up websites, social media accounts, and the like where they will sell their ideas to the world and where RevNig’s supporters and the general public can access full details of their plans; after that, the development of the projects.

They can commence by mobilising funds from friends, family and well-wishers through their online presence before the commencement of the RevNig fundraising program.

At the right time, the RevNig Movement will start reaching out to supporters to donate to such start-up projects.

“We didn’t become the most prosperous country in the world just by rewarding greed and recklessness. We didn’t come this far by letting the special interests run wild. We didn’t do it just by gambling and chasing paper profits … We built this country by making things, by producing goods we could sell.” — Barack Obama

Calling on Nigerians to Give Directly to Projects That Benefit the People

Calling on Nigerians to Give Directly to Projects That Benefit the People

calling on Nigerians to give

The RevNig Movement (RevNig) calls on Nigerians to give to projects or ideas that benefit everyday people. Giving is a veritable path to real miracles/healings people and communities can receive.

In the world’s developed societies, people give to projects that directly impact the commoners. Back in Africa, we spend even more than the developed world searching for a better life, but we misspend our hard-earned money on empty hopes and promises.

We squander our monies on native doctors, Babalawos, pastors and mallams who use it to better their lives and cart the rest away in banks and offshore accounts abroad. With a promise of a better life to unsuspecting followers, religious crooks are reaping the fruits of deceits while the living conditions of their followers are worsening by the day.

Fellow Nigerians, It is time we got out of these misconceptions and evil deceptions. RevNig urges the everyday Nigerian to redirect their hard-earned monies to realistic projects that will directly benefit the society and not those based on deceits — false hopes and promises.

If you earn $500 a month and give just 1% (not 10% as demanded by some religious cults) of your earnings which is $5, you will make a significant impact in the development of your community and your world if you decide to give at least a dollar each to:

1. Your alma mater – the primary, secondary as well as the institution of higher learning you attended or any other school of your choice
2. The hospital you were born or any other healthcare centre of your choice
3. A project in your ward, local government, state as well as national projects
4. A political party or any non-governmental organisation you support
5. Any international organisation of your choice
Thus, 1000 old students of a school, for example, contributing $1 each to a school monthly, will raise $1,000, which will assist the school in its essential needs. The same idea applies to hospitals and other community development needs.

Fellow Nigerians, there is a saying that tiny drops of water make an ocean. We all must learn to make a little sacrifice to bring a sea of relief to our people and communities.

Five dollars is what some use in buying a pack of cigarettes many times in one month. $5 is peanut compared to the amount spent by some on alcohol monthly. $5 is far less than what some spend monthly on faith-based purposes like tithes, offerings and the likes. Therefore, $5 will not be much of a setback if you decide to skip any of these habits once a month for humanity’s sake.

Again, there is an old saying that we reap what we sow. Let us sow in our communities so we can reap the blessings of God. No supernatural entity will come and bail us out. It does not happen that way. It never has. God has already put in us all that we need to make our lives better. It is up to us to utilise it or not. The miracles and healings we so desire will come our way if we first aspire towards them. The long life and prosperity we yearn for will come if we first embrace RevNig’s path to a better Nigeria.
